Behind the Scenes: Transforming Beach Memories into Timeless Art

 As an artist specializing in commission paintings I've had the privilege of bringing cherished memories to life on canvas and walls alike. Years ago, I had a unique opportunity to blend these skills in a heartwarming project for Vickery Pediatrics in Cumming, Georgia.

The Coastal-Themed Practice

Drawing on my experience as a designer and artist, I adorned the space with playful sea turtles and various other sea animals in charming murals for the patient rooms and waiting area.

This job holds a special place in my heart, as now my grandchildren visit this very office and enjoy the murals I created!

A Thoughtful Gesture

A few years after, Dr. Wendy Delaney, the practice owner and my dear friend, hired more doctors to meet our growing community's needs. This growth led to an exciting new project!

Touched by the positive impact of the warm atmosphere, Dr. Delaney wanted to extend this warmth to her growing team. She commissioned a series of special paintings for the doctors who joined the practice.

Her idea was to bless them while also updating the halls of the practice with new artwork that would compliment the current coastal theme.

Capturing Precious Moments

Each doctor provided their favorite photo of their child at the beach. These weren't just any photos – they were snapshots of joy, wonder, and innocence. My task was to transform these cherished moments into 16" x 20" acrylic paintings that would bring their story to this sweet office.

The Painting Process

As I worked on each piece, I found myself not just recreating images, but capturing the essence of those fleeting moments. The laughter of a child watching the waves, the wonder in their eyes as they play in the sand – these emotions came alive on canvas.
